E-cat could be used for Cooling and Home E-cat Heating and Cooling Units could be Available This Fall

The e-cat low energy nuclear reaction device could be used for cooling or air conditioning homes and buildings as well as heating them, inventor Andrea Rossi announced. Rossi made this announcement on James Martinez’s Cash Flow Radio Show in the United States on December 29, 2011.

The price will be so low so that everybody will be able to get one,” Ross said of his heating and cooling system. The home fusor or Ecat would generate between 10 and 20 kilowatts of heat. Rossi said it would cost between $1,000 and $1,500 US (771.72 to 1158 Euros or £640 to £960 UK) to purchase one. He also said it would cost about one sixth the cost of present heating costs in the US.

The average American family pays around $732 to heat its home one sixth of that amount would be around $122.24. That means the savings would pay for an e-cat in about three years. This estimate is based on the use of natural gas the common heating fuel in the United States. The savings from other sources such as electricity, propane and fuel oil could be much greater. Natural gas is the cheapest home heating fuel.

Rossi did not how say how the e-cat would cool homes and buildings. This could be with a heat pump a device that pumps heat in and cold out.

The start will be in the US,” Rossi said. Rossi also stated that the device would be available for distribution to the public in Autumn 2012. He said the device would first be distributed in the United States. Rossi stated that the units would first be distributed in Europe and the United States. Rossi does have a deal with a company called Hydro Fusion to market his technology in Northern Europe.

“The first point of development will be in the United States,” Rossi said. “The main center of production will be in the United States.

There are still some obstacles to overcome, Rossi said. He stated the device will need certification. He also said the fall 2012 date would be achieved with help from God.

Rossi told Martinez that the expected lifespan of an e-cat would be around forty years. He also noted that the ones he is planning to sell could be retrofitted with new technology.

The inventor also revealed that he is using an e-cat to heat his home in Bologna. He also stated that e-cats were also being used to heat the home members of his team. Rossi gave no evidence of this, and when Martinez asked if there would be demonstrations of the home heating units for journalists Rossi would not answer.

“Yes I am using it,” the inventor said. “There are some that are working in houses of my team and me.”

“The device has been designed to be very simple to install,” Rossi said.

Rossi said e-cats would be installed by existing heating and air conditioning companies. He stated that he would use contractors recommended by his customers. Rossi has been taking preorders for e-cats at his website.

The heating unit can be added to existing heating systems Rossi said. He did not say whether they could be used with forced air systems. The e-cat could be presumably used with hot water or steam heating systems.

Once again Rossi stated that he plans to produce 1 million fusors and that he has industrial production lined up. Unfortunately he did not provide any proof of this claim either. Rossi also stated that he had important partners but did not identify them.

“We are in talks with Home Depot for the diffusion,” Rossi said. Rossi stated that he has been in talks with Home Depot a major chain of home improvement and hardware stores in the United States for distribution of fusors. He presented no proof that he has any sort of an agreement with Home Depot.

Rossi said he is about a year away from producing electricity with the e-cat. He did not say when e-cat powered generators would be available.

“This energy is already is already available to make heat and to make cold,” Rossi said of e-cat.

It will take between 10 and 15 years to develop an e-cat powered car, Rossi predicted. He said applying the e-cat to cars would be very difficult. Rossi also noted that using e-cat to power ships and trains could be easier.

The e-cat is very safe Rossi said. The fusor produces no pollution, no emissions and makes no noise. He said no toxic material or radioactive material was used in the construction of the e-cat. Thousands of safety tests on the e-cat have been performed by experts at the University of Bologna.

“I do not think that we would replace other energy sources,” Rossi said. He also admitted that other energy sources will be better for some purposes than the e-cat would be.

Martinez said he had received a lot of interest about the e-cat. He noted that he had been contacted by international consortiums that wanted to use e-cat in developing countries. He did not identify these organizations. He said he had also received a lot of inquires about it from the media.

Rossi said he thought it would be easier to deploy his invention in developed nations. He said he had received extreme interest from the United States, Europe and North America.

When asked about criticism Rossi stated that he was ignoring it.

“I just do not care about all the meaningless noise that is around,” he said of critics.

Rossi admitted that he answers most of the inquiries he gets about the e-cat and said he spent two to three hours a day answering inquiries. He also admitted that he had learned a lot from inquiries.

Rossi said that he had first become aware of cold fusion or LENR from Pons and Fleischman’s work back in 1989. He noted that he never met either Pons or Fleischman and has had no communication with them. Rossi said he started trying to replicate cold fusion in 1989.

Rossi and Sergio Focardi started cold fusion research full time in 2007. They first tried what he called an electro resistor before developing e-cat. Rossi stated that he has received thousands of critical communications but has never read them. This seems to contradict the statement that he made above about inquiries.

“I refused any kind of theoretical controversy,” Rossi said. “We just focused on the work.”

Rossi stated that he and Focardi made thousands of experiments before achieving a working low energy nuclear reaction device. He said he was compelled to go on.

“What you call pressure I call responsibility,” Rossi said of pressure. “This responsibility is a source of energy.”

Martinez compared Rossi to Nicola Tesla and called him of the world’s greatest inventors. He was also very open in his praise of Rossi.

“This may be one of the most important interviews that I’ve ever done with anybody,” Martinez said. “Dr. Rossi is a great example of somebody that has worked relentlessly to get where he is. This is one of the most important inventions ever. This is the greatest invention since the wheel. This is some of the best news ever for the entire world.”
