Rossi: American Manufacturer Building and Testing ecats in USA!!
Andrea Rossi stated that a new long term test of his ecat low energy nuclear reaction (LENR) technology is underway in a U.S factory on his blog. The inventor stated that the ecats being tested in the factory were manufactured in the USA.
The test is being conducted by an independent committee and will last longer than six months. Rossi described these efforts as a validation test which indicates it is intended to verify his claims about the technology. Rossi didn’t’ say whether these tests had anything to do with the three ecat units supposedly shipped to the U.S. in the spring.
The validation will be conducted by an institution completely independent of Rossi and his Leonardo Group. This could be the Pentagon’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) which has been connected to Ross in the past, or a large university.
Rossi noted that the tests are being conducted in the factory of what he describes as the U.S. manufacturer. Unfortunately he refused to reveal the name of the manufacturer and the location of the tests. That sounds as if Rossi is bound by some sort of non-disclosure agreement. Signor Rossi stated that the independent committee will publish the results of the tests and reveal the location when they are done.
This probably means that a big company is working with Rossi but doesn’t necessarily believe him. The company finds his claims about the ecat compelling but wants some real verification by an independent third party. I hope that verification comes soon because it would do a lot to commercialize LENR.
An Entire Nation Blacked Out
There was more evidence of the need for something like LENR last week. 70% of the people of the nation of Venezuela (a country of 28 million people) lost electricity when their power grid went down on Sept. 3. The nation’s president is blaming the outage on sabotage. No matter what caused it the big black out in Venezuela proves that decentralized power generation is needed urgently in today’s world.
No Other Source of Energy will be Needed
Veteran cold fusion researcher Dr. Edmund Storms formerly of the Los Alamos National Laboratory told interviewer John McGuire that he thinks no other source of energy will be needed once LENR has been perfected. Storms said he thinks the phenomenon is real but the challenge is to commercialize it.
Even though he’s optimistic about LENR, Storms admitted that he wasn’t optimistic about Rossi and Defaklion’s efforts. He doesn’t think either team of inventors has achieved the efficiency needed to make LENR a viable commercial power source.
