US Electricity Costs hit an all Time High
It is easy to see why there is so much interest in alternative energy sources such as low energy nuclear reaction (LENR). Electricity rates in the United States just hit an all-time high according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The average cost of a kilowatt hour of electricity in the USA in October was 13.2¢ that is the highest it price on record. If that wasn’t bad enough the price is continuing to go up. The price increased every month in 2013.
Electricity costs in the United States have actually been going up for quite some time. In fact the cost of electricity in the US has risen by around 42% since 2003. The Washington Post predicts that electricity costs will increase by 21% in the next 10 years and 51% in the next 20 years.
These figures indicate that the present electricity supply system in the United States is both costly and inefficient. Alternative sources of energy are desperately needed now.
If we don’t get such sources and soon energy poverty is going to be a huge problem in the United States. Large numbers of average people and even some businesses might not be able to afford electricity from the grid at some point in the near future. The cost of electricity is so high that even some large corporations are going off the grid.
We need to start investing large sums of money in likely alternatives such as LENR right now. The work done on LENR or cold fusion in recent months has been absolutely exciting, Andrea Rossi, Brillouin, Defkalion, Francesco Celani, the Martin Fleischmann Memorial Project and several others have all reported intriguing results indicate this source of power is viable.
The rising cost of electricity should drive the development of LENR. Utilities will need alternative sources of electricity to keep electricity production costs down while there will be a growing market for nonpolluting off the grid sources of electricity. LENR could become one of these sources.
If we don’t speed the development of such energy sources we could be facing a major economic crisis brought on by high electricity prices. That energy crisis could be worse than the oil crises of the past. LENR could be the solution to that problem and the key to a new wave of prosperity for everybody. Not moving forward with alternative sources of energy could lead to poverty and economic stagnation.
